Abstract
One trial of interlaboratory quality assessment in blood banking were carried out in 1993 and the response rate of trial was 78.2%. Test items were ABO cell and serum groupings, Rho(D) typing, eross matching, direct antiglobulin test, antibody
screening
and identification test. The accuracy rates of ABO cell grouping for A type was in the range of 99.0% to 100%. The accuracy rates of ABO serum grouping were in the range of 93.8% to 97.7%. The accuracy rates of Rho (D) typing were in the range of
99.0%
to 100%. The accuracy rates for direct antiglobulin test were 96.2% to 100%. The response rates for antibody screenings were still low in about 43.4%. the response rates of antibody indentification were still low. Highest usage of reagent red
cells
for
antibody indentification was Dade made. The practical workshop was held once in the Central Red Cross blood center and all were first attendants and medical technologists were despatched from smaller hospital blood banks throughout the Republic
of
Korea.
